The aircon hummed very loudly which made it hard to sleep and it also pumped out damp smelling air which aggregated my asthma. The bed was noisy and very uncomfortable, as were the pillows. The music in the corridor played loudly - thankfully it was switched off at night. We stayed in a traditional Japanese room and it was very large and comfortable. The outdoor public baths were fantastic. Really beautiful. The only thing is that this hotel is not very close to anything. It’s about 15min walk from the station and on the opposite side of the lake. There are not many restaurants nearby that open early or late so you really have to plan. Also, the local bus only runs until 5pm and can be very crowded, so you really need to plan your departure and arrivals every day.
