General Francis Marion Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"beautiful maintained historic hotel"

Little Creek Cabin, 2 bedrooms, 1.5 Baths (Sleeps 4)

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful stay at Little Creek Cabin. The cabin was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. We loved the peaceful setting, privacy, and beautiful mountain sunsets. Its location made it easy to explore the Blue Ridge Parkway and nearby West Jefferson, while still feeling secluded and relaxing. Paul was a welcoming, attentive, and accommodating host. He was flexible when we needed to change our dates and checked in to make sure everything was going well. We’d happily stay here again!"

Scenic Cabin w/ Wraparound Deck, Long-Range Views & Near Grayson Highlands

10/10 Excellent

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house has an amazing view!! The property was clean and very nice. We really enjoyed our relaxing stay. Yes there were bugs as others had commented but you are at the top of a mountain in the woods. ( I can stand lady bugs- they were actually fun to watch. My kids stayed entertained with the fusball. We will definitely be coming back here again. Only recommendation is that you get a few more deck chairs. But we enjoyed playing games on the picnic tables outside."

River House Inn

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed in cabin 1 and were pleased with the size of the king bed and the room. The bath was well stocked with very nice towels also. I really enjoyed the pot of coffee that was left outside my door at 7:30 am before we headed to the restaurant for the delicious breakfast. All of the staff are amazing. They are so accommodating and are continually checking on your needs. We will be visiting again in the future."

8/10 Good

"There were a lot of lady bugs and stink bugs in the house. The information binder in the house explained that they are aware of the bugs and that it is common for wood houses in that area to have those bugs to some degree. It wasn’t an issue, but something to be aware of. This property is managed by a company, not an individual, and I had to sign paperwork for the Vrbo rental outside of the app to satisfy the management company’s requirements. I prefer all communication and instructions to be shared in the Vrbo app which was not the case. I had to reach out to them via Vrbo messages to get information that they said was emailed to me, but I didn’t not receive. I was charged more than the total price shown on Vrbo. When I called the rental company to ask about the difference, I was told that they only see that “bringing pets” is checked, and they don’t see how many even though when I booked the reservation through Vrbo, I indicated that my group would have a total of 3 dogs with us. The fact that the rental company charges a per pet fee and not a flat pet fee was not disclosed on the Vrbo page AND thr fact that they charged that additional fee without letting me know upset me. I called them to let them know I was displeased and they were kind enough to waive the additional charge because of the misunderstanding, but it was frustrating that it happened in the first place. The house itself was just fine, a little worn but the views were stunning!"
