« We took our dog to get away from fireworks and this was the perfect place in the mountains. Walk to river to tube or wade. Two wonderful state parks nearby. Lots of hiking trails nearby as well and River House is a wonderful base for numerous outdoor activities. Just a wonderful place to relax. A five star place. Breakfast was wonderful and while we did not eat dinner. food smelled delicious. Nice small bar to get a great cocktail. »

« We tried to leave our luggage prior to check in time and were told no, they could not do that. Very unusal!. On the positive side, the front desk did refrigerate some meds before we checked in. Breakfast was good. »

« We stayed in the Loom House, not until we arrived did we know we were to occupy the oldest habitable log home in NC. While the bed was comfortable, the small fridge was iced up and smelled of old food. There was no TV. There were nail heads sticking up out of the floor upstairs and the floor creaked loudly every time we got out of bed to walk to the bathroom. « Pool was under construction but the property had been update and wa in a great location. Peaceful and quiet. The best part was the restaurant onsite and the weather. Enjoyed our stay and will recommend to friends and family. »

« Room couldn't seem to cool down around time for bed even though I had it turned way down. However it was a super hot weekend. Finally around 2am I could tell we were making headway and we're able to finally go to sleep (soundly). Soap/shampoo dispenser in shower was completely empty, which I was sad because it smelled so good (the conditioner anyway) Otherwise the room was spacious, clean, and we were happy. »

« This is one of the most charming inns! Yes, it's a bit old and the room a little small, but it's clean and super bright. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept like babies being able to open the windows instead of having to endure the noise of the air conditioner like in all places. The front desk staff was very nice and called within a few hours of our arrival to make sure we liked our room and were comfortable. We will absolutely return here! « Blowing Rock is a beautiful little town. Unfortunately, big conglomerates are buying up the small hotel properties, and the personal service that was once the rule is now lacking entirely. We stayed at Azalea Inn and were disappointed. To start, we had to go to a different property to check in. During our whole stay, there was never any staff onsite at Azalea. The grounds are lovely, but it's an old building. We stayed in a "deluxe" room for our anniversary, but had to climb a dark, smelly...
