The hotel was ideally situated to walk around the center of Florence. It was also only a 5 minute walk with luggage to the train station. The breakfast was good but it only started at 8am. They'd do better opening it at 7:30. The hotel was looking a bit shabby in need of some upkeep. Our room was also full of mosquitos despite no windows being open. For the price, it was fine.

It is well-located, within walking distance of the train station, and other points of interest. There are many options for shopping, dinner, groceries, laundry, and everything you need. The facilities are old and basic, but they are of good value for a short stay for bead and breakfast.

Nice spot, located close to several tourist attractions. Easy to walk to lots of places, and a really good continental breakfast. We showed up 4 hours prior to check in due to travel times they let us store our bags. Very nice of them, would definitely recommend!

First arrived to hot room cooled down some until midnight when the hotel had it programmed to shut off. No good sleep first night. Brought us a fan and last 2 nights got better.

We loved our stay and that breakfast was included!! Our only issue was that our rooms air conditioning was not functioning! We had to open our room door to let in the much cooler hallway air in. Despite this Hotel Rex is located in an excellent location and has pleasant accommodations!

Location, location, location!! The hotel was within walking distance to all the big tourist attractions in Florence including the train station. This hotel was clean and simple. My only complaint was the bathroom was very narrow. The staff was friendly and helpful providing tips for authentic tuscan/italian restaurants and a map of the city.

We expected some city noise, but the soundproofing was awful. 2nd floor up (3rd) and you could hear all the music, patrons and general noise from the street in front as if it was directly in your room. Most nights we could only get uninterupted sleep between 3am and 6am. We also didnt have any control over the A/C and spent our 3 nights just sweating from how hot the room got. Wouldnt recommend during the peak season.

The mosquitos were awful. We had to open the window because the room was too hot. We inadvertently let in a bunch of mosquitos that bit us over and over. I had 8-10 bites on each arm. We asked for assistance at the front desk and was given the Italian version of Off. We were still being bitten so we asked for help again has were given a nearly empty can of Raid followed by a brand new can. It is a nice location and breakfast but the mosquitos are terrible. I have never seen anything like it.

Very poor quality Hotel for 3 stars.
Hotel is very well located, but it is not 3stars at all. my room has been adapted from a storage, because was a corridor where the bed is located in front of the door, and you do not have space for nothing else, was the worst I have stayed. For location is great, but no comfortable at all.

open the door and there is one bed, just move three steps and you can see the other single bed, very strange room.
