The room (#111) had a strong musty/moldy smell and they had no other room available for us to swap to (the maintenance guy came -- he sprayed some odor coverup on the rug but said they would have to shampoo the carpet after we left). The toilet was full of crap and had not been cleaned (spoke to the manager who promptly sent Housekeeping to clean, and she told us the toilet was plugged by the previous guests and then the plumber forgot to fix it). That evening, it took 15 minutes to get a glass of wine at the bar on Friday night though it wasn't crowded (the young lady behind the bar acted like it was her first day on the job)-- then she closed the bar at 10pm on a Friday night when the hotel was full -- it was open until midnight on Saturday and the bartender then was excellent. Given the slow service at the bar, I timed the service at breakfast the next morning -- we got our food 37 minutes after being seated though the restaurant had only 3-4 patrons -- the server was very nice and apologetic, and the food was good. The Manager is working very hard (saw him bussing tables at breakfast), but this hotel is understaffed and showing a lot of wear & tear.

"I stayed here a few years ago and while it was fine it wasn't noteworthy. But many things have changed since.
