It was a smaller resort but the staff where incredibly friendly and always smiling and saying good morning. The meals were from a set menu, but even as a picky eater I was always impressed and left full. The bartenders were personable and always willing to make new drinks. There is no direct beach access, but a quick boat ride from the dock or a 15 minute walk would get you to a very quite beach. We planned to eat at Breeze resteraunt and have a drink overlooking the ocean but found out after we walked there is was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Would definitely recommend this resort for relaxing and recharging. Merryl asked me when my plane was landing, gave my specific directions to the Villa, directed me to Natasha, and and even recommended a local rental car which we used :)When our plane landed Merryl was fantastic with communication and made sure we landed in Antigua. We did not get lost due to Merryls directions. Natasha met as on the property to give us a tour. Not enough praise can be said about Natasha. We inquired about extra excursions and connected us directly to the tours. The tours included the stingray, a day trip to Barbuda, and massaged on the beach. Natasha even ran us an emergency errand when we needed her.Property: When we arrive the property exceeded our expectations. The resort was gated and secure. The resort itself had a restaurant within 1-2 mins walk with incredible views a pool and gazebos. There is another pool on the property over looking the resort and beach. The beach is roughly the same distance 1-2 minute walk with lounge chairs and palm trees for shade. The resort also offers boat taxi which Natasha scheduled us for to different restaurant and snorkeling spots which we utilized. The property is Paradise :)The Villa was perfection. We overlooked the beach and palm trees. The doors opened to the wrap around balcony. The breeze is great in on this second floor Villa. Full kitchen, living room and laundry room accessible. There was wine water and fresh fruit for us upon arrival. THE BEST!" If you want to stay somewhere authentically Antiguan, with home decoration and a real home experience this is a great place. The property is large to UK standards and the grounds are immaculate. The views and sea access were the absolute selling point for me - stunning!Some of the downsides for us were unfortunately outside anyones control - we came in July and arrived during a particularly hot heatwave (yes in Antigua!), the property was stifling even though completely opened up - the fans did little to alleviate the heat and not much sleep was had. The kids found this particularly challenging. Keeping the house open did mean mosquitos (this is a 'Tropical' house - there are not even fly screens on the slat windows which I have seen on other 'Tropical' houses in the Caribbean). However, the house is totally 'open' no front door -and air holes in the roof so fly screens would not work. Be warned. The Verandah hotel opposite throws out loud music a few times a week until very late (even in down season) the noise carries at night. We were unaware that a housekeeper is employed by the house - if you are early risers no problem but if not this may be challenging, it was lovely to have someone clean every day and all the staff were marvellous and could not be more helpful, but it is slightly intrusive and she could not come later due to transport.
