    Ireland Hotel Guide

Ireland is known for its music, literature, friendly residents, and green landscapes, and despite its small size, the country offers many experiences to tourists. Dublin is a city rich in history dating back to its founding by Vikings more than 1,000 years ago. It may be the only city in the world where the central post office is a major attraction and an important part of the country's history as it was the site of the 1916 Easter Rising that eventually led to Ireland's independence. Today, the city has a vibrant theatre scene, top restaurants, and a lively nightlife. Numerous day trips from Dublin are available with travel to the Neolithic tomb of Newgrange or to the ruins of a medieval monastery at Glendalough among the most popular. Expedia can assist visitors with booking hotels in Ireland.

The southwest of Ireland enjoys better weather than many other parts of the country, and the Ring of Kerry, which is a trip around the Kerry peninsula, is a popular destination. The Aran Islands off the coast of Galway offer visitors a stark and unusual landscape. Due to the limited accommodation there, it is best to book rooms well in advance. Rural destinations such as these are particularly likely to offer a special discount in the off-season when tourist numbers fall and prices drop.

Ireland hotels range from inexpensive budget lodgings to grand historical country houses. Travelling during the off-season can be a good time to get cheap hotel deals in Ireland. Because the weather is unpredictable throughout much of the year, making reservations during the off-season is less of a compromise than it might be for other destinations. Outdoorsy types will need to be prepared for inclement weather regardless of the time of year, and many of the attractions of the country do not require a guarantee of pleasant weather. Some attractions may be closed during the winter, however, so visitors with specific destinations and itineraries in mind should plan ahead.

If travelling during the off-season is not practical or desirable, visitors can still find Ireland hotel packages year-round. Ireland hotel deals often include breakfast and other perks in the price. The earlier that visitors make reservations, the better the rates will be. A cheap Ireland hotel deal can make the difference between taking the trip and staying home.

    "Close to city centre"
Close to city centre and friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is in need of a bit of tlc and even though our room was on the 3rd floor you could still hear the noise from the bar and the outside smoking area. I'm sure the walkway from lift to room swayed and can only put this down to the vibrations from the music!!!

We stayed at the radisson for 3 nights, the hotel is beautiful! Wasn't very impressed when checking in, as we went up to the reception desk, there were 3 girls standing together chatting and after looking up when I said hello, none of them made a move to greet us for a few moments until one of them nudged the other to check us in. However the lady on the desk as we checked out was very pleasant. The room was very clean and made up every day, bed was huge and really comfy! Bathroom was clean and great shower but could do with new bath tub.

    "Impressive hotel, superb staff."
Along with my wife, I stayed at this hotel for two nights. We'd never been to Dublin so it was a bit of guesswork and trusting to honest reviews on this site. The location is fantastic if you want shops, restaurants, parks or just about anything else in a city. We do not make it a habit to stay at 5 star hotels, they're generally too expensive for us. For a wedding anniversary however, it is just the place to stay. I have never been to any type of establishment that had staff to come anywhere near those employed by The Westbury. From the very first word of greeting at the taxi door to the very last smile as we left to go home, their staff are incredibly friendly, courteous and helpful. They are NOT forced, fake or even obsequious. I cannot praise them highly enough, thank you.

Spent two nights here while exploring the surrounding areas (used Lally Tours, they were fantastic). The decor is a bit spartan inside, but the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Lots of places to hang wet clothes. Lots of surface areas- Wood desks, dressers, nightstands, side chairs, etc.

"Friendly hotel in a very good location"
Stayed for six days in November. Very friendly staff. Hotel is in an excellent location, with shopping, excellent restaurants and bars with traditional music within an easy walk. Helpfulness and friendliness of staff are much appreciated. Nice swimming pool. Had breakfast every morning - good choice available. Found people in Cork very friendly, and much pride taken in the fresh food that restaurants get from the English Market. Hotel has a useful interactive display of what's on in Cork - we went for trad music every evening - always something close at hand. Sorry, Ireland, but for those of us that earn money in sterling, pretty good value due to the strength of the pound against the euro too!

We were here for a funeral and had to stay two nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only criticism I have is that at breakfast there were no separate utensils for the bacon and sausages. I have coeliac disease disease so my food was cross contaminated . However I really appreciated the gluten free toast! I will definitely stay again
