I am a solo female traveller and decided to stay at Zanzibar Locke because the rate was favorable and I liked the idea of having a small apartment with a kitchenette in the city since I tend to tire very quickly of eating out. I found the location of the hotel central and a good jumping off place - it was easy to walk all over, but if you need a bus or train, all of those things are close by as well. I appreciated that they had a hair dryer that was efficient, and made efforts toward sustainable efforts like not changing sheets everyday or having housekeeping 1/week. I know some people like to have people come everyday, but I found it fine as someone who cleans up after themselves and makes their bed everyday anyways.
i found the bed really comfortable and the kitchen had the basics except any paper towel. I found that really odd and while I appreciate having a hand towel, there are still things you need a paper towel for (cleaning up) or more hand towels for. The kitchen had good basics - an oven, a toaster, a stovetop.
I appreciated also that the elevators and front door require swipe during "off hours" it made me feel more secure. Even though there was construction going on next door, I honestly barely heard it.
I will say, getting my phone onto their wifi was the most frustrating process ever and it took me multiple attempts and over an hour to figure that out.
