Rochestown Lodge Hotel & Spa

Rochestown Avenue, Dun Laoghaire - Map
"Good hotel, friendly staff and welcoming."
Enjoyed our stay very much. Bus stop was right outside the hotel, but often walked into Dun Laoghaire to get the dart into Dublin, which took about forty minutes. Walked into the pleasant village of Dalkey. Visited Malahide and Howth. We had evening meal in the hotel four out of the five nights we stayed, and enjoyed everyone.

The Fitzwilliam Hotel

2 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin - Map
"Very comfortable hotel conveniently situated"
This was our first visit to the Fitzwilliam and we found it very clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The bed was large and comfortable. The décor was pleasing and I appreciated the orchids. It had all the features I expect from a first-class hotel and I particularly liked the dimmer switch in the bathroom. I would have liked something savoury in the mini-bar, e.g. crisps or nuts, as due to a flight diversion we arrived very late, too late for a meal. I also like a separate shower compartment as the side of the bath is slightly high for oldies such as ourselves. However, I realise space is the deciding factor. The breakfasts were very good and the service attentive. I would definitely recommend the hotel to friends.

Ashling Hotel Dublin

Parkgate Street, Dublin - Map
"Excellent Hotel -- Just Outside City Centre "
The Ashling Hotel is a nice hotel on the edge of the city center, but within easy walking distance of the center, in addition to being on the Luas Tram line and a block away from the Heuston Rail Station. All was convenient for our needs. It is also within walking distance of the Guiness Storehouse and Old Jameson Distillery - must sees if spending any time in Dublin. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The full Irish breakfast was great and the restaurant served food late into the evening unlike many of the places in the city, which worked for us coming back late from County Cork on a Saturday night. The rooms are clean and spacious enough and the bathrooms are large and well laid out. I'd recommend anyone wanting a quiet, convenient location consider this part of Dublin.
