Beautiful city with great nightlife though it was quite busy even in mid-week. We used it as a way to explore the local area and found it a decent home base however traffic was usually a factor in our day trips.
Very different vibe then Dublin. Lots of pubs/outside patios to have a Guinness.
We were there during the weekend of the Galway races, so this is more than likely the reason for a few of the answers above
I would stay in Galway again. Beautiful city with loads of charm and excellent dining !
