Great spot and exactly what I hoped for at the Sandman. Will visit again!

The staff were very friendly but the facility was old and lacked amenities. We had booked a room with a queen size bed, but it seemed more like a double. The best thing about the place was the Greek restaurant—very good food.

We were disappointed with the Coast. It was an expensive choice but we chose based on the convenience of the pool and hot tub being indoors and easily accessible via our ground floor suite. Unfortunately, the hot tub jets were not working. A maintenance man appeared for two minutes, looked at the wall timer, touched the tub water and announced there was nothing he could do. He didn't even try, just shrugged and walked away. We sat in the tub regardless, just for the warmth after a long day traveling, but it was disappointing. It was then we started to look around closely. While seemingly clean, the building itself needs serious maintenance, chipping, cracking paint and plaster, bare balconies, it looked worn and dated. We noted the same in our room. It was clean, but I began to think I could have got the same at a cheaper hotel. Coast hotels are usually higher standard, hence the price. The staff were polite, though we had a maid knock on our door at about 10, when checkout is 11. She said she was seeing if we needed anything, but we figured is was a polite hurry up and get out scenario. (We were already getting our stuff together) All in all, our stay was okay. Will I likely go back? No. I will find a cheaper hotel and deal with an outdoor/hot tub if need be.
