However, we had a list of issues. NO hot water until our last day (so - cold showers), a broken chair, the pocket door to the bath was stuck in the wall so we could not close the door where the shower is, no vanity lights in that bath - just wires showing, a broken screen laying against the house and 2 piles of animal feces on the balcony that the host said they'd clean up (we ended up doing it ourselves on our last day), the lights in the patio/entertainment area did not work, the water dispenser in the fridge did not work or the ice maker and we could not use the tap water as the reverse osmosis system was in-op making the water super salty and unusable for drinking or coffee. We contacted property management about the chair and hot water on the first day, then as the other issues arose. We also contacted the host. The hot water was the only issue resolved - on the afternoon of our last day. I asked our host for some reimbursement who forwarded my message to the prop mngt company. We requested 750 of the 2800 we had paid. Laurie at Tortuga (who was very responsive during all of this) sent our request to the owner and he never responded to either of us. I know problems arise and can be harder to address on the island. However, the silence from the host in the end - to not even address our request, is very disappointing. I feel like how a problem is addressed can speak volumes on how you do business. Disconnecting was our goal! The communication with the property managers coming into our trip was good. All questions were answered. There was an issue with our “late arrival”. There is no indication in any of the information that stated what a late arrival was considered, but just a mention of a 75 fee for it. We were arriving on the last ferry at 6:30pm and that is considered late. The hours of check in are 4pm-5:30\. So be aware of that when you travel. Our groceries were ordered ahead of time and put away for our arrival. That’s totally worth the extra money!!! There are spices there, such as S&P, Pam, but not much else. The living space and bedrooms are great! We were comfortable and had a great visit!The beach chairs, small cooler and umbrella were a great benefit!!The listing for the house showed bikes, kayaks, paddles, and carts for them. There was only 1 kayak, no paddle, no cart, and no bikes. This was actually a draw for us with this property. We had a few issues with the golf cart that is provided. When notifying the property about it, we got no response. Then when it quit working altogether, we were told that there was no one to help us and it’s unfortunate. It had rained and several of the roads were flooded, so we walked barefoot to get places! We will definitely be back to the island, probably not using this property management group. The kitchen had all the gadgets including an ice maker that came in very handy. Definitely the coldest AC on the island! Anytime we needed something fixed or addressed they were attentive and quick. Very happy with our stay overall. The only extra thing that would have been nice to have would have been bikes for the tweens to get around the island on their own."
