When is the best time to go to Cashes Valley?

The best time to go to Cashes Valley is during the spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) months when the weather is most pleasant and the natural scenery is at its most striking. In spring, the valley's flora comes alive with wildflowers blooming across the landscape, and the temperatures are comfortably mild, superb for outdoor activities. This is an ideal time for couples looking for a romantic escape, with opportunities for gentle hikes along trails like the Benton MacKaye Trail or exploring the local orchards as they blossom. Autumn offers a spectacular display of changing leaves, painting the mountains in vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows. The crisp, cool air is invigorating, making it excellent for hiking, apple picking at local farms, and enjoying scenic drives along roads like the Cohutta Wilderness Scenic Byway. Families will particularly enjoy this season, with numerous harvest festivals and corn mazes providing entertainment. While summer (June to August) is also popular, it can be quite warm and humid.

Top Cashes Valley Hotel Reviews

Comfort Inn & Suites East Ellijay

8/10 Good

"The water never got hot in the shower and there was a roach on the bedside table."

Waterfront Cabin on Trout Stream W/ Hot Tub, & Internet

8/10 Good

"The cabin was very clean, which was great. And Julie let us check in a little early, which was also great. The bed in the master was pretty uncomfortable. And the oven knobs are very worn, so we couldn’t really see what temperature we were cooking. The fishing was fun. And it does feel very private. I would just advise any visitors to take pictures before you leave, especially of the hot tub. We were accused of damaging the lid, but I had pictures of it after we had gotten out of it showing no damage to the lid. So just make sure to document everything."

Best Western Mountain View Inn

10/10 Excellent

"The place was clean and my kids loved that they were all decorated for Halloween. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and well put together. The breakfast was really good. My kids were obsessed with the pancake machine and a staff member made it a fun experience for them. She also gave us a wet rag for sticky fingers which was such a sweet gesture that was much appreciated. Overall, it was a wonderful experience."

❤ SALE ❤ Private Couples Nature Retreat, Fire Pit, Hot Tub, Screened Porch Swing

10/10 Excellent

"Such a fantastic place to stay. We loved the amenities - especially the wood fireplace. The host was incredibly communicative and check-in and check-out could not have been smoother. It’s a very quiet area with a really easy drive to get to the house. A surprisingly useful amenity was the desk! I ended up bringing a little work with me and having a space to work with solid WiFi was very helpful. Highly recommend it for couples or small families looking for an affordable and cozy getaway near Ellijay. If you are a couple looking for a work-cation - this spot is perfect."
