Nestled at the end of the road on a wooded lot high atop Long Mountain, this Blue Ridge cabin rental is charmingly named for its flowering and fragrant blackberry bushes. The home's covered wraparound porch welcomes you and offers four rocking chairs overlooking the scenic front yard & firepit area. Around back, there are two large decks that span the length of the lodge. Cozy outdoor seating, a 4 person dining table, and a handcrafted wood bar top with two stools offer several inviting spots to take in the sights and sounds of nature. From here, the views go on for miles and the breeze carries the intoxicating scents of the local flora and fauna, foliage, berries and of course, the fresh, clean mountain air. The addition of a Tesla Universal EV Charger is free for guests to use and compatible with other electric vehicle makes and models, making it very convenient to re-charge at the end of your day. Once inside the lodge, you'll notice the beautiful tongue and groove pine walls, the tall ceilings, and exposed timbers. The fully equipped gourmet kitchen is to your immediate right and features upgraded stainless steel appliances and an island with bar stools, so everyone can gather around as you prepare your meals. The dining area is across from the kitchen and reinforces the lodge theme with heavy pine chairs, a farm-style table that seats six, and a chandelier made from pine branches and pine cones. After enjoying a meal, you can relax in the great room that features several large windows, all with wonderful mountain views. Here you can also get cozy and warm by the heavy stone, wood burning fireplace. A deep-seated leather sofa and 2 recliner's invite everyone to kick back and reminisce about your day's mountain experiences. Enjoy streaming your favorite movies & TV shows or choose one of the many channels offered on the DISH Satellite. If you're not in the mood for TV, pair your phone with the Bluetooth Polk Audio Soundbar to stream your favorite tunes as night falls over the mountain tops. Descending the heavy timber stairs to the home's lower level, you will enter the game room with vintage poster art, a regulation pool table with leather pockets that can convert to a ping pong table, shuffleboard table, classic arcade game machine with 400+ games and a 43" Smart TV. There is also a selection of board games, card games and a book library. A covered deck is directly off the game room and has fabulous mountain views that can be enjoyed from the swinging daybed or hot tub that seats six comfortably. The hot tub also has several jet features that are unique to each of the six seats, offering individualized settings. When night falls, you can retire to the upstairs master bedroom which has a comfy king-size bed. The room has plenty of windows, large closets, a private door to the deck, and a massive master bath with double vanity sinks, Jacuzzi tub, and stone tile shower. Two separate bedrooms are on the lower level on the opposite side of the game room, with one opening up to the bottom covered deck. It being dog friendly made it a huge win for us, particularly with care being taken to put a gate on the porch. Kids are already asking about when we can come back!Blue Ridge had changed so much in 20 years. We explored downtown, ate at Bobs and The Rumcake Lady and wanted to go back to both. We kayaked Lake Blue Ridge and the whole family really enjoyed it. Lots of hiking in the area to enjoy as well.Things book out in the summer, even towards the end, so if you want to enjoy the rail bikes or railroad ride, make sure you check dates. There are days they don’t run.Escape to Blue Ridge made renting the place super easy and we felt cared for with simple check-ins and offers to help during our stay. The cabin was in great condition and outfitted, inside and out. Fabulous location with incredible views! Close to downtown, Mercier’s, and all the woodsy trails and nature you can possibly imagine. Cabin felt secluded, with end of the road location that made it exceptionally quiet and peaceful. But still easy to find and close to anything you’d need, we even had an instacart drop off within an hour of our arrival :) Everything in working condition and well cared for from towels & toiletries to hot tub and furniture. Games, ping pong, and video game table kept the kids playing for hours. Absolutely love this property and this was our second time staying. This time with our two crazy Blue Healers who were unusually calm the entire trip. Gorgeous view, Plenty of room for multiple people/dogs, close to town, and right down the street from a part of the Benton MacKay trail. The only downside this time was the well pump went out on Easter weekend so we had no water for 24hrs. Thankfully it was fixed as soon as the office got word. The kitchen amenities were great, the hot tub, pool table were fantastic. The fire pit was amazing-there is even a grate to cook over the open flame! We were a family of 4 and had plenty of room. The cabin is exactly as pictured on VRBO. It is at the end of a road on top of a hill, so it has the feeling of seclusion while actually still being very close to town. We thought the dishwasher was broken, so I called management to report it; the woman was friendly and assured me she’d get someone out to look at it. We kept working on it and finally figured out that it wasn’t broken, just different from any we’d ever used. I called to tell them it wasn’t broken, but within an hour another friendly person was at the door to check it out and make sure it was okay. I really appreciated their response. I would definitely book this cabin again whether for a girls’ trip or a getaway with my husband. ##### Elizabeth M. Had read the reviews that the management isn’t great with communication, and definitely experienced that. Emailed the first day we were there to ask about firewood and let them know that we replaced the coffee maker, because there was no pot in it when we got there. No response. But they sure did make sure to email me promptly about the checkout time and procedures. Would rent this cabin again, but make sure you have zero questions or confusion when you get there. ##### Molly J. This cabin was at the end of a steep paved beautiful tree covered road. For how quiet the neighborhood and area was you would have no idea it was only a couple of miles from the downtown area. I didn’t receive access information to the faculty until after checkin. I contact the company back in September and again, didn’t receive a response until after checkin in. I had concerns about securing the hot tub as my young children were staying there because the latches were broken, never received a response. They were happy to charge my credit card even though they didn’t apparently have all the information to complete the process, although never asked. When asked why I didn’t received a response, the only answer I received was “ I don’t know.” ##### Bill B. The privacy, the house, amenities and views this house provides is 5\*. Perfect location, close enough to all that you need but far enough away to enjoy the views and seclusion. Enough space for just us and our little pup or for a whole group. I used the hot this time and it was GLORIOUS ! I highly recommend this house and the property managers.
