"The staff at the hotel were amazing, very helpful and always willing to help. The parking was great and we felt safe leaving our car as it was locked up great. Would definitely recommend and stay again!"

"Excellent amenities and room quality. Perfect for our purposes. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful; we arrived in NYC from a red-eye off very little sleep and they were kind enough to hold our bags and let us check in a few hours early for a short afternoon nap. Convenient location close to subway stop that goes straight into Manhattan. It should be noted that the area in the South Bronx surrounding the hotel is on the sketchier side (although we always felt completely safe and comfortable in the hotel). It didn't bother me but guests sensitive to drug use, trash on streets, etc may want to reconsider their stay. Otherwise, I have no complaints. Thank you Melrose Hotel for one of the best trips of my life."

"The room was comfortable as was the hotel overall. Unfortunately we had to visit the front desk at least once daily if not each time we returned to our rooms as our electronic keys did not work. It became increasingly frustrating over our five day stay there. The front desk staff did not offer any advice except to say to keep the keys away from credit cards, phones etc which we did. We have never experienced this at any other hotel that we have stayed at and would have appreciated a resolution to the issue by the staff who seemed to be aware of the issue without offering a fix for it. Other than that, it was a convenient location for us with easy parking and a comfortable room."

"Our room was not cleaned properly. There was a soap wrapper on the floor. The linens had hair on them, and the curtains had blood stains. Housekeeping also looked like they were drinking. They had liquor on top of their cleaning carts. The hotel also houses people who are in a shelter. The floor we were on smelled like weed 24/7. Had I known this I would have not stayed there."
