"La Prometida was perfect! I can’t say enough nice things about this place. My husband and I stayed with our two adult children (in their 20s) at cottage one for 5 days.The cottage is charming, comfortable and clean. The lovely large screened-in patio was great for us all to gather in and if it was very hot, the indoor sitting area and kitchen cooled down very quickly with the ac on. The patio is surrounded by beautiful landscaping and in the mornings the birds sang while we drank coffee (they deliver every morning - so nice!) The breakfasts are delicious and also were brought to our cottage on the mornings when we requested that. The owners pay attention to every detail and made every effort to make our stay special. The staff is so nice and so helpful. We asked for many suggestions for activities and restaurants. Andi, Francisco and Selva were amazing and always gave us great connections for setting things up like snorkeling. La Prometida is a very special place and I am so happy we found it. "

"Had an amazing two nights stay here. Wish it would have been longer. In a. Wry cozy private culdesac. Convenient walk to the main Puerto Nuevo strip. Room is pleasant, comfortable and very clean."

"We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay at Namu. The staff was polite and courteous and eager to serve with a smile. We stayed in bungalow 2 and it was extremely clean, well appointed and very private. Our private plunge pool was beautiful and clean and we used it every day. The staff works very hard to keep the property clean. The service staff made every meal and cocktail we enjoyed at the property pleasant. The property is conveniently located within walking distance of all of the local shops, markets and stores. The locals are the friendliest and happiest people on earth. We highly recommend Namu and hope to visit again! "

"We were genuinely sad we only had one night to stay at Banana Azul! Check in was quick and efficient and friendly. The fresh coconut was a lovely treat. The Howler Suite was charming and the view magical. The food in the restaurant was delicious. I highly recommend Banana Azul if you want an authentic Costa Rica experience that’s right on the Playa Negra beach. I’ll definitely be returning. "

"After a busy week touring Monteverde and Arenal, our stay at this house on Playa Negra was a much needed restful few days at the beach. Loved the proximity to the beach to pop over the street when we wanted as well as the relaxing sounds of the waves and ocean from the expansive balcony and all the delicious restaurants nearby. House was clean, beautifully furnished and well set up with everything we needed, even a few beach chairs and boogie boards and noodles. Only thing I hadn’t truly focused on when booking is the ground level bathroom and bedroom with exterior kitchenette is its own separate unit which requires you to take the exterior stairs to get up to the rest of the house. These are still within the gated garden but nevertheless we ended up having my husband sleep with our 10 and 13 year old down on that level as it seemed too isolated for them if they needed us during the night and I stayed upstairs with our older teen. There were plenty of beds to make that work. We hope to be back to explore more of that area. All the beaches were amazing as well as nearby Cahuita National Park."

"This was an amazing property with lovely, patient staff, and owners who had an answer for each of the (many, many) questions we had. The area is beautiful and safe, and the owners make it a point to make sure guests are getting what they want out of a vacation. Thank you for nudging us to bike to Punta Uva, Eric. Next time -maybe- we'll consider rafting from the airport 😉"

"Marta has built a truly beautiful space, and is a wonderful hostess! She responds very quickly and provided exceptional suggestions for our stay in Puerto Viejo!!! We loved this home so much. There's plenty to explore in the surrounding community. When not exploring, it is the perfect little oasis for a swim, siesta or overall tranquility. We can't wait to come back!!!"
