"Looks to be a family owned motel just across the road from the beach. Not all the rooms have a view of water. Our ocean view queen room did. The room was small, but fine for two, and had a balcony with the nice beach and pier view. There are restaurants all around."

The Beach Cottages

"If you are looking for a little of the Venice (in LA) vibe but would rather be in beautiful San Diego, the Beach Cottages is the place to go. Older property but well maintained and very clean this "right on the sand" option is for you. We stayed in one of the one bedroom cottages and it was just a great place to hang out. We walked to several good restaurants, and did spa treatments all within one block. The property does a great job of providing outdoor showers (to get rid of the sand), plenty of ice, a full kitchen, lots of clean towels, shampoo / conditioner / and body wash. They tell you no air conditioning but the breeze was so cooling we would not have used it even if available. Remember to bring your own beach towels and enjoy!"
