My daughter and I went and stayed for 3 nights. The staff was super nice, we were able to check in a little early. It was a little outdated compared to other hotels I’ve been in, but we weren’t in our room very much so it didn’t really matter too much to us. The view is great, beds are comfortable, and overall quiet and pleasant. The restaurant was probably the worst part of the experience, food just wasn’t good for the price. All in all, we’d stay again.

The view of the marina is beautiful. The staff were super nice & helpful. It’s very nice to have a full service restaurant & bar on property. My only suggestion would be to expand the menu for dinner with more casual dining options.

Don’t bother to eat here. Had the eggs Benedict and it’s probably the worst I’ve ever eaten. First round the eggs were beyond over cooked, 2nd attempt brought eggs almost raw and they didn’t even bother to toast the English muffin. Very disappointing as we chose staying for the brunch instead of heading to La Jolla. Big mistake. Also the walls are paper thin so you can hear your neighbours every move. Pillows are lumpy and very poor quality and my room had a wash sink which leaked everywhere but the drain. Mentioned at check out the bad brunch & leaking sink and all I got was “thanks for letting us know”…. Very disappointing. I’ll use other Shelter Island hotels in future as my children sail in San Diego a lot

The staff is very polite and willing to help all the time. I really liked this hotel. The area surrounding the property is beautiful. My only concern is that I paid for bay view and I got a half balcony. The space of this half balcony was so small that only one person could stand and enjoy the view. Most rooms had a full balcony. I'm wondering if they paid a higher price! These different options should be informed to the client before the payment.
