Families looking for a destination with a mix of outdoor adventure and educational opportunities might consider the area surrounding Vulcania in Saint-Ours-les-Roches. The best time to visit Bas De Bonce is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

During these shoulder seasons, you'll find comfortable temperatures superb for exploring the natural beauty of the Auvergne region without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter. The countryside is particularly picturesque, with spring blossoms or autumn colours adding to the scenery. Many local businesses are fully operational, but you're less likely to encounter long queues or fully booked accommodation.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, these months offer ideal conditions. The trails around the nearby Puy de Dôme are accessible and enjoyable, and the air is clear, offering stunning views across the volcanic landscape. It's a great time for couples seeking a peaceful escape with opportunities for leisurely walks and scenic drives.

Families travelling with children might also find these times appealing, as the weather is mild enough for outdoor play without being too hot.
