"We had a great weekend at Oakdene it’s a quaint , quirky cottage in lovely surroundings . Waking up in the morning looking out over the hills and forest is fab. "Lovely big house and setting for the family, just a couple of things which would have made it 5* could do with a few more chairs in the living room especially if you have 6 adults or teenagers with you. The floorboards upstairs were a little noisy. No electric kettle or toaster. Overall the house was clean and had most things we needed for our family holiday. "

"Overall this was a good stay, rooms were nice and clean and there was plenty of space for 10 adults to stay. However, both ovens failed to heat properly which made cooking a bit of a pain. Check in process was not great, only being able to arrive between 5-6, the owner did not respond to any prior messages. Despite this, the local area was stunning, and the house was fit for purpose and good value considering the price of other locations in the area for a group this size."

"Had an enjoyable short break at the Maple Lodge. Hosts were very friendly including the cats and dogs. Lodge was cozy, clean and had all the amenities you need. Bed was comfortable and slept well after all the walking and trekking. WiFi was intermittent and could probably do with a boost but it did not ruin our stay as we were out exploring the surrounding area most of the day. "Lovely stay at the bungalow. Three friends on a singing weekend nearby. It was very well equipped, clean and peaceful. A drainer rack for the sink would be useful and the mattresses were a little ‘tired’. Nevertheless it was great for us and we would stay there again."

"My family and I enjoyed the stay at this property. Beds were comfortable, hot showers and plenty of bath water for a long soak after walking up Pen Y Fan which is just down the road. Kitchen well equipped, lots of space at the dining table. Stairs to the bedroom are steep which is normal for this type of cottage. There is a lovely outdoor space at the back. The owners went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right for us. "

"We had a wonderful time. The property has everything you could need including thoughtful extras like milk, bread, tea and coffee on arrival. Property owner is lovely and easily contactable. There is a lovely place to sit outside with amazing views. Hay-on-Wye is literally an 8 minute drive away and lives up to its name of a bookish town. One of our favourite get always and I can’t recommend enough!"

"We had the most wonderful time staying here. The house was surprisingly spacious and immaculately clean. The terrace became a second room and we spent most of our time there, joyfully chatting and admiring the view. The highlight for me was the joy the dogs had with their freedom and trips up the field at first light. The views from up there are incredible. "This property is wonderful. The property is brand new/recently renovated and this is apparent as soon as you step inside the front door. All fixtures and fittings are of good quality and the charm of the original building such as exposed beams have all been kept. It is in a quiet location with stunning walks and trails on your doorstep but the village is only a 10 minute walk. We would definitely recommend this property and would happily come back ourselves."
