"Very nice location, Huge Rooms, they're so close!"
A very nice location! Right on the water front overlooking Cowichan Bay, small eclectic shops and great restaurants are all within easy walking distance!
We got a 1 Bed King Suite, it was huge! Lots of room for a small family. The view was amazing, birds chirping in the morning, sea breeze flowing through the room, and it was the first of March! Awesome.
This hotel is so close to being fantastic, but they are just missing a couple small pieces.
Our King bed had some broken springs, so my wife slept in a 16" x 16" hole, the amenitites in the room, ie: stove, fridge, could use some updating. The room also smelled a bit dank, like it could have used a deodorizer. A couple sprays of perfume made all the difference in the world.
The pool is also used for local residents, so it is quite used, it could use a real good deep clean of the tiles, etc. It felt just a little bit un-kept.
The restaurant upstairs was decent, but not great. We only had breakfast, but again, it was so close to being great, but just fell short a bit.
The home-made ketchup was ok to me, my wife loved it, I could have used some good ol' Heinz. The toast came unbuttered and luke warm, so spreading hard margarine onto it became very difficult.
Again, this hotel is a really nice place, and a good price. The location can't be beat if you want a quiet get-away, and it is close enough to Nanaimo or Victoria. I would stay there again.
