Hamahiga Island Ski Vacations

My family of 7 had an excellent stay at the Pools Villas on Yagaji Island in Okinawa. Automated check-in was simple, as was checkout. The private pool was clean and the highlight of the trip for my younger kids. Sleeping in the tatami room on futons was a good experience for my older kids. The air conditioning worked well and kept us comfortable in the humid heat. Bathrooms were large and luxurious and the washer/dryer worked well. It was clean and well kept. But be aware this is a tropical place, so there are large spiders and lizards etc. My children enjoyed having a couple of house geckos in the unit to keep them company. And in the pool deck area, I was a bit surprised by what I thought was a very large spider walking around in the evening, but on closer inspection it was just a local Okinawan coconut/hermit crab that had made its home in the yard beside the pool. It's all part of the local experience! If you want to watch your streaming services from home, better to bring your laptop and connect with HDMI to the TV or streaming stick. That's how we watched the FIFA World Cup games. Internet is OK but sometimes slow. We patronized the two restaurants around the corner for breakfast and dinner on a few occasions. Great beaches are nearby - Kouri island is close by. We enjoyed the quietness of Yagaji island. For the first time in my life I could actually see the milky way stretching above in the sky. There is little light pollution so enjoy the stargazing.

Let’s start off with the beauty that is the hotel! From the lobby, to the pool, to the rooms, and restaurants, it’s absolutely breathtaking. You walk into your room and they are amazing. You’ve got your bed area, kitchen area, living room area, and your balcony. It’s clean and has all the tools and accessories you could need in the kitchen and bathroom. They clean your room every other day and it’s like walking back into it for the first time, EVERY TIME. You walk onto your balcony for a BEAUTIFUL view of the ocean. Even your front doors have an amazing view of the tree line. The hotel was quiet, even with neighbors, and the staff were very nice, helpful and respectful. Checking in and checking out was a breeze and the price was definitely worth the stay. The Hiyori was a great choice to stay and deserve return stays! Oh! And the hotel has restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner but they are extra cost; delicious food too!

Great property! It's definitely far from the airport. About a 50 min drive. They have a partnership with a vehicle rental company near the hotel--make sure you coordinate that before you get there as vehicles can be limited.

Our staying was really excellent for relax and enjoying swimming in the pool. Strongly recommend for seniors to take calm and comfortable staying there.

So accommodating! Truly felt pampered throughout our stay.
