(25 reviews) Fabulous stay in a wonderful location. The staff are truly top-notch. Attentive and friendly. Every request was answered with “Of course, with pleasure!”. Food was excellent. Morning coffee with steamed milk delivered to our room early morning so we could sip and watch the sunrise from our balcony. A variety of on-site tours are included. The guides are excellent. Special shout-out to Sandra for finding the small Red-eyed tree frogs during the night tour. Scarlet macaws flying all over the lodge, monkeys everywhere, all sorts of beautiful birds and interesting critters right outside your room. The grounds and views are beautiful. Hike to a waterfall within ten minutes. Pool is nice too. They will take you down to the secluded beach and set you up with chairs and cooler. The beach is beautiful but very rocky. We had the Matapalo suite. Very nice though close to the entrance and main road so the intermittent traffic noise was a minus. We had a small issue with a large wandering spider and then a bark scorpion getting into our bathroom (each just once) but they responded within 3-4 minutes both times. They installed a door sweep on the bathroom door within hours to prevent them entering the bedroom- very speedy response. The view was outstanding however. Overall Lapa Rios is an outstanding lodge with wonderful staff, and I cannot recommend it enough. Five stars. (1,005 reviews) Amazing experience at the Parador. Resort is magnificient, you have a Monkey Trail, mini putt for the kids and pickleball courts. The pools are overlooking the Pacific Ocean with an amazing view. We saw onsite monkeys, iguanas, many kinds of birds and sloths. Breakfasts were great and the Tapas restaurant was well priced compared to outside the resort. Happy hours everyday from 6 to 7pm was great to catch the sunset. Rooms were spacious for a couple and two teenagers. Parador was also a walking distance to a nice quiet beach or you could request a golf cart ride. The Parador also offered a shuttle service free of charge that brings you to the Manual Antonio public beach. Would definetely return and recommend a stay at the Parador. (405 reviews) Incredible resort. Would rush back in a heartbeat. We had the cheapest rainforest bungalow and it felt like a suit. Gorgeous bathroom, animals surrounding you, hammock outside was lovely. The breakfast was incredible, the food in the hot springs was excellent and the staff were amazing. Particularly the guides who went out of their way to help you and spot animals and birds for you. The night hike and the free day hike I would absolutely recommend without hesitation. We would not have spotted half the things we saw without the guides. I had my own yoga session with an incredible instructor as even though it was sold out when we were there in December, no one seemed to do many resort activities! The hot springs were great. We used them at various times of the day and had our own one every time. The slides into the river and into the cold pool were fun.
