Loved this hotel! The property was gorgeous. The staff was very helpful. Swim up bar was great!

Breakfast goes from 6:40am-10:00am. great selection of food from rice, beans, chilaquiles, meats, plantains, fruit, cereals, there's even an omlette station and waffle station. Tea selections include black, green and herbal. Hot coffee and hot milk available as well. Juices usually were orange and some type of red (our guess was papaya). Filling because it is all you can eat.

Did not give us room with 2 queen beds as we booked and paid for. On top of that, front desk staff didn't even bother yo let us know that they will give us wrong room type until we found out at night. We have 16 and 12 years old boys so we specifically reserved room with 2 queen beds. When we called the front desk at night they said initially that they couldn't give us our room due to availability. After dealing with front desk person with back and forth arguments he said he will give us call back in 5 minutes. No one called for 10 minutes and I called them back as it was very uncomfortable for my two boys to sleep on full size sofa bed. Then he gave us another room on the third floor with almost 25 steps. NO ELEVATOR. This incident ruined our mood. In addition they didn't give us 20% food discount that we received from expedia until we asked at the time of checkout. I think they should give us that discount without us reminding them. Overall it was okay stay for the price we paid for and the stars they have on expedia website. Would not stay again here.

The hospitality is fantastic at the property—the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable, our room was upgraded, and the spa service was perfect. Where secrets can improve is the cleanliness and the upkeep of the rooms and property. It definitely seems a little dated for its rating, and the sofa and chair in our room was stained in a way that we didn’t want to sit in them. It was nice to have a quiet pool and a party pool but the water in both were so hot it felt like bathwater. We were also disappointed in the food quality and the lack of Costa Rican dishes on any of the menus.
