8.2/10 Very Good! (1,000 reviews)
I stayed for one night and overall found the experience average, falling short of the 4-star Hilton standard I expected.
On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the hotel was generally clean. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The spa and pool facilities were a nice addition, with well-kept changing rooms.
That said, there were several drawbacks. The hotel is showing its age, taps, units and fittings were stained, damaged, or not cleaned. Getting to the rooms was awkward, requiring you to go up a floor and then back down again, which felt odd/poor layout. The pool itself needs renovating, as tiles and walls are worn, and it felt overcrowded with members lane swimming alongside public swimming; a rotation system might make it more enjoyable for hotel guests.
Noise was another issue. I could hear guests from nearby rooms, and even with windows closed, shouting children from a wedding party at 10:30pm were disruptive. The bed wasn’t comfortable, noisy and uncomfortable pillows, which sadly left both me and my partner with sore backs by morning.
Check-in was also poor, more like an all-inclusive resort queue, with about 10 people waiting and no real welcome or information about hotel bars, evening food, or family-friendly options.
Overall, while the breakfast, rooms to a good decor standard and staff were great, the noise levels, tired facilities, and uncomfortable sleep meant the stay did not justify the price.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (1,040 reviews)
The entrance and lobby area is quite something.
The staff are very friendly and on hand for anything you may require. They also left our son a card and some chocolates for his birthday which was a nice touch.
The rooms are spacious and well decorated but beds seem small, mattresses are soft and comfortable.
The room cleanliness was questionable quite a number of stains on the carpet, windows dirty, the carpet and tiles were not clean and didn’t seem as if the carpet had been hoovered.
The wardrobe smelt like fish and the robes that were left had makeup stains on them along with some “other” stains.
Coffee machine and tea facilities was well stocked along with the mini fridge items.
The hallways and lobby’s really smelt like a particular plant you’d smoke.
For the amount of time we were in the room it was “fine” if we were staying longer than the one night I’d definitely have complained about the room.
For £200 a night I’d expect the finishing touches and cleanliness to be A*.
Probably wouldn’t stay again.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (154 reviews)
The hotel and the grounds were full of character. The bathroom was incredible.
However, the issue was the noise. Needs some serious sound proofing. The room was above reception and was incredibly noisy. Also, the room lacked services considering the price per night. Limited drinks available, and had to ask for bathrobes.

10/10 Exceptional! (43 reviews)
My husband I recently stayed at Old Church Farm for 3 nights. Our visit can be summed up as first class! From the excellent communication before arrival to the moment we arrived and beyond, Christopher (the proprietor) made sure we felt right at home. Whether it was recommendations on local eateries or a nightcap before bed, everything we needed was seemingly at our fingertips. The hospitality and personal touch was worth the visit alone. We were even given a complimentary ride into town the first night which was really helpful, Christopher even gave us a little tour of some of Thornbury’s notable attractions. Make sure you don’t skip out on breakfast; calling the food delicious doesn’t come close to doing it justice. To top it all off, the property was beautifully decorated, full of fascinating history, and well located for exploring Bristol, Bath and the Cotswolds. Thank you Christopher and your wife for a stay we will never forget!

8.4/10 Very Good! (1,000 reviews)
We have stayed before so we already knew the hotel;
- Staff courteous and efficient.
- The room was spacious, clean, light and airy,
- Breakfast
This time though there were a few niggles.
- Parking: insufficient information i.e not clear where we could park (permit etc);
- Key card did’nt work, however quickly dealt with;
- Long hair on the shower wall;
- Bed REALLY uncomfortable (springs felt)/pillow hard hence we couldn’t get to sleep;
- More hand towels needed;
- No drinking glasses ie water etc;
- No information book;
- Bath/shower, VERY hard to get in and out. No slip-mat included (accident waiting to happen);
- No sockets near bed (charge phones etc).
