Was in a garden room which was fine but room was a cold, however oil filled heater was in the cupboard. Room was clean and en suite was spacious. Food was very expensive but no better than a home cooked meal.

Breakfast was lovely! Buffet and à la carte.
The room (king) was huge- really lovely. Fluffy pillows and duvet but bed not the comfiest I’ve slept on!
Unfortunately our room was not ready at check in - 4pm - and we didn’t get in until 5.30 which wasn’t ideal. The swimming pool is nice but noisy! Not the chilled vibe I was hoping for!

So, the good stuff first.
Price is fantastic value.
Location is ideal, just off the M74.
Room was warm, quiet and clean. Bed was great.
Now the real let-down. The smell of dope on the first floor would have knocked you out, despite the ‘No Smoking’ signs on all the doors. I reported it to reception. It was clear to me which was the offending room and I invited the staff to take a stroll past. Not sure if they did or not but the smell was still there the next morning when I left. You wouldn’t need to have been Miss Marple to track down the offender.
Apart from the smell it was a clear fire hazard. I’m due back in Scotland soon and would love to stay again. But that has made me hesitate.
