You can tell this hotel probably had its glory days, but now feels quite outdated, especially in terms of its amenities. The photos online were over-advertised compared with the hotel’s actual condition (bathroom mirror peeking off) compared to pricing alike. The staff were generally friendly, much appreciated, but amenities were lacking. I stayed in a room with a separate living area, and because I was traveling alone, jet lagged, and spending most of my days handling business around the city, having a working TV was crucial. Unfortunately, the TV did not work in room, leaving me with essentially no entertainment during my stay. On my departure day, I requested a 1 PM late checkout because I was handling banking matters nearby. I called the hotel to explain that things were taking longer than expected and I’d return a little later. However, when I came back, I was told that staying just one additional hour would incur a NT$750 charge. I understand that hotels have checkout policies, but I would have appreciated being informed of the possible charge when I called ahead. Since one of the basic in-room amenities was not functioning, I had also asked the overnight staff to inform management and requested some consideration regarding the checkout time. Unfortunately, no accommodation was offered. For a hotel that is already quite dated, with poor lighting in both the rooms and lounge areas/essential amenities, I felt that a little flexibility would have gone a long way—especially
