« Very good value for money, everything you need is there including WiFi. Some small areas needing attention but nothing serious. Only downside was building works going on in an attached building, loud banging from 6am. »

« I was in room 10 which was very nice but it was next to the kitchen so you could hear the extractor up until about 8 pm also you couldn’t have your widow open during this time. The rest of my stay was perfect, breakfast choice and quality very good ,evening meal very good, staff excellent and ample parking. Outside at the rear was a lovely large garden with plenty of seating for drinks. This was my second visit this year and I would definitely stay here again. »

« A lovely inn situated in a peaceful village but very handy for visiting the attractions within York and the North Yorkshire National park. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and our room was very clean and comfortable. We can recommend the food and drinks on offer in the air conditioned restaurant, both on the evening we stayed and for breakfast the following day. Top marks. »

« The staff were incredibly professional and helpful. I couldn't fault any one of them but I would mention abby particularly. The service was impeccable and the food was very food. Breakfast was so good and there was a lot of choice. We had a pool room which was perfectly positioned next to the pool which was clean with loungers and seating. I would highly recommend a visit here and we will certainly visit again. »

« Check in was great, very friendly, advised about the parking situation which wasn't ideal so ended up staying in the long stay. Room was very compact and would benefit from losing the cushions. Clean and comfortable with very nice bathroom. Didn't particularly bother us but there was very loud music from the pub playing until midnight on the Saturday. Restaurant was OK, expensive for ok food. Chunky chips were very under, fed that back to staff who smiled and said would relay to the kitchen....

« Beautiful country hotel, small and personal service, delightful comfortable en-suite rooms, warm inviting pool - often to ourselves, incredible top class gourmet food - formal dining and bar food served in the warm and cosy bar area or the relaxing lounge. So much choice at breakfast, all delicious, everything you could want. Can’t wait to go back in summer to enjoy the open terrace overlooking the pond. A real joy to stay here. »
