La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Sandusky near Cedar Point

8/10 Good
"I reserved and pre-paid for a suite at hotels.com, but was assigned a regular room. I didn't know of the mistake until I got into the room. I had stayed in a suite at this property in the past, and really liked it. The room I was assigned had only one desk chair to sit on (other than the bed). The desk clerk was unaware or acted unaware of the mistake, and said there was nothing she could do. Next day I spoke to a manager who initially said I was given a suite. When pressed, she admitted it was not a suite and apologized. I asked for and received a partial refund. I didn't actually get the refund until also contacting Hotels.com and explaining the problem. All in all, it was a clean, inexpensive room, but frustrating. Breakfast was a madhouse, with people waiting for seats to free up, but the staff worked hard to replenish everything and clean up spills."
