Cahoon Hollow Beach is known for its beautiful sands and fun social scene, especially because of the popular Beachcomber restaurant and bar. Lounge around on the sands during the day mingle with fellow beachgoers as day turns into night.

The Beachcomber was a lifesaving station in the late 1800s. It opened as a bar in 1978 to cater to the increasing number of beachgoers in the region. Now, together with the adjacent beach, it is one of the most popular spots to unwind on Cape Cod, particularly for teenagers and young adults.

To get here, make your way carefully down the sharply descending dune path to the beach in Wellfleet. Hang out with friends on the sands and enjoy amazing sea views. The beach is known for its fun atmosphere. Revel in the good-time vibes.

Swim in the chilly water, usually below 60 F (15 C) during the summer. While this may be too cool for some, it can also be revitalizing, particularly during sultry summer days. Surf in the ocean off the beach, which is known for its waves. Check ahead to see what conditions are expected. Pack a wetsuit for the cold water temperatures.

As sunset approaches, head to the Beachcomber for more entertainment. Eat seafood from its raw bar or enjoy other hearty dishes, such as cod tacos and lobster. Sip a cocktail, socialize with other beachgoers and listen to music. The establishment hosts live bands, covering genres such as rock and reggae.

Parking at Cahoon Hollow Beach is available at the Beachcomber and another nearby parking lot. Both charge a fee, but money spent on parking at the Beachcomber can be used against purchases inside the establishment. The bar is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but specific opening days vary throughout the season. Check ahead to make sure it will be open during your visit. The beach is about a 10-minute drive from the center of Wellfleet. Lifeguards are present.

Rooms clean and somewhat updated. I was ok with the property itself as the price was good for the area. We stayed on a sat night though and while I didn’t mind the band playing very loudly early in the evening, my family of 4 turned in at 11pm which is when we heard a stoppage of music. But it was only a break. I was awoken for more music until midnight. We were assigned a room directly above the bar and I feel the front desk clerk could have asked our preference as I did not realize such noise would be an issue. Oh - fire pit was just outside our window too, so extra noise unfortunately. Breakfast was not very enjoyable either but sufficient.
