Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort

Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort

8/10 Good
"Ok, this was a weird one. I was expecting rustic mountain lodge, I got Victorian Apothecary. The room decor was a little creepy and off-putting, to be honest. Skulls, weird paintings, dinosaur skeletons, etc. But the bed was super comfy, the room was clean, and we loved having the patio and table to sit outside and star gaze at night. Our cabin was on stilts on the hillside and there was another room next door that had a child in it, I'm not sure if he was extra rambunctious or what, but the whole place shook and it sounded like people were running across the room next door. That said, the spa area was lovely. They don't seem to have yoga classes but they have a fully equipped yoga room so we put some YouTube yoga videos on and had a private yoga studio. The private tubs were awesome, and the sauna and hot tub were spectacular. The JuneBug restaurant left a lot to be desired, I can say unequivocally that it was the worst cup of coffee I have ever had in my life. You know it's going to bad when it's gray coming out of the urn and even grayer when you put the half and half in. The oatmeal was "meh", my friend's huevos rancheros were "meh", and we chose to drive to Mariposa for coffee and breakfast the second day over even getting a cup of coffee to carry us through the morning. Yes, it was that bad. So....we would stay there again, but we would definitely skip the restaurant and bring more of our own food to cook in the kitchen."

"Super cute property, I will definitely be back with the whole family! We stayed during a heat wave, but the breeze at night made it comfortable enough to sleep. Super clean tent, bed is super comfortable, great pillows, the pool was clean and beautiful (and my husband is a pool guy), wonderful staff and comfortable amenities. It’s like a hotel and camping had a baby……and it’s perfect. Bathrooms are very clean, always stocked, and showers are free and warm. It put us only an hour and a half away from Yosemite, which was our ultimate destination."
