Via What’s App hebben we doorgegeven dat wij rond 16 uur in Merzouga zouden zijn. Wij werden opgehaald bij Auberge Sahara. Daar konden wij onze auto parkeren. Chauffeur Mohamed stond al klaar met zijn 4WD. Onderweg naar het kamp bezochten we o.a. een oude mijn en dronken we thee bij een nomadenfamilie. Bij aankomst in het kamp hebben wij een rit op een kameel gemaakt voor de zonsondergang. Food was maybe 7/10 for me but for what we paid I will never complain. Always found something to eat, could do with being a little warmer. The fresh pizzas are delicious. Swimming pool is slightly heated which was perfect. Sun beds were reserved as with any hotel. Some staff were more attentive than others. Gardens are all well kept. Drinks are basic. We had to pay to use the all inclusive on arrival as it was 10:30 in the morning which was approx £15 each. You get it free if your flight home is early but because we wasn’t leaving til afternoon we got that day included but only til 3 then your sat waiting in reception for your ride to the airport. It’s got its faults but it was still worth what I paid and would return. So gave 5 star due to value for money. We didn’t use the water park because it wasn’t quite warm enough for us but it looks great l. Entertainers were brilliant, it was my daughter’s birthday and they went above and beyond to make it special for her. The resort itself is nice, but the service can be extremely poor unless you engage management directly—even for basic needs like fresh towels or a TV remote battery. Your experience will depend on your patience and willingness to escalate issues. My recent stay at the Mövenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi Marrakech was initially very challenging, but ultimately redeemed by outstanding management. I arrived with a Junior Suite booking and upgraded to a Luxury Suite, but the first room had a broken shower and an undesirable view. The second suite smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite being non-smoking. After spending much of the evening changing rooms, I returned to a Junior Suite, which unfortunately had no window in the bedroom and poor ventilation since the AC was not operating, making it uncomfortably warm. Housekeeping was highly disappointing. Multiple requests for basic items were repeatedly promised but never delivered, even after follow-ups—far below five-star expectations. What made the difference was management. Mr. Lahcen, the supervisor, was attentive and resolved the situation by providing a significantly better room & quickly addressed the service issues. Thanks to him, my experience was turned around. Without their intervention, this would have been a 1-star stay."
