"I’ve stayed at Ayres properties across California for years, and I never thought I’d be writing a review like this—but this experience at Ayres Suites Mission Viejo was bad enough to lose me as a customer for life. My stay was a complete disaster from start to finish. The first night, I had to switch rooms because of a dog barking nonstop. Not occasional noise—constant, disruptive barking that made it impossible to relax or sleep. While the staff did move me, that’s where any semblance of resolution ended. The second room was somehow worse. I dealt with loud, persistent banging throughout the night—walls, ceilings, who knows—but it went on for hours. Again, sleep was out of the question. It felt like there was zero sound insulation and zero regard for guest comfort. By the next night, I’d had enough. It got so bad that I packed up and drove all the way back to Arizona at 9:30 at night just to escape the noise and frustration. That’s how unbearable the situation was. To make matters worse, they refused to reimburse me for the unused night—even after everything that happened. No accountability, no effort to make it right, just a shrug and a charge on my card. For a brand I’ve trusted my entire life, this was beyond disappointing. It was unacceptable. Between the noise issues, the lack of proper resolution, and the refusal to stand behind their service, I won’t be staying at any Ayres property again. If you value sleep, basic comfort, and quiet.. stay elsewhere. "

"People were eating in the hot tub . Room service is more like door dash- cold and comes in styrofoam boxes and a big paper bag. Lovely grounds ! Pool experience was disappointing but villas were nice and grounds beautiful. The Pinot Gris is delicious "

"We stayed for one night, and overall the experience was just okay. When we first entered the room, we noticed a large puddle of water on the floor between the toilet and the bathtub. At first, we were concerned it might be a leak. Maintenance was sent up, and they suggested it could have been from cleaning, saying perhaps too much water was used and it hadn’t dried yet. Later, after using the shower, we realized the puddle formed again if the shower curtain wasn’t fully inside the tub. However, what raised more concern was finding a used towel hanging behind the door, which made it seem like the bathroom may not have been properly cleaned before our arrival. Additionally, the TV only had basic cable—there were no streaming options like Netflix, which was disappointing and felt outdated. Overall, the stay was average, but the cleanliness issues and lack of modern amenities made it less enjoyable. It definitely felt more like a motel than a hotel. "
