Secluded but not remote, this deluxe 3 bedroom/2 bathroom home is ideally located high above the village of Joshua Tree and only steps from Joshua Tree National Park. You will be mesmerized by the ever-changing play of sun and moon on the desert landscape plus the abundance of flora and fauna. Watch dozens of bird species frolic in our garden and at our bird feeders. Observe incredible sunrises and sunsets, stars and planets, and the Milky Way in all its glory. Unsurpassed views all around!! Choose the Cowgirl room with its antique décor, two twin beds, ceiling fan, or enjoy the Cowboy room’s old Western décor, queen bed, ceiling fan, and sliding glass door onto the patio. The guest bathroom has a full shower and tub. All towels and linens are provided. Luna Vista has central heating and air-conditioning, but the outside living areas will draw you outdoors - try the cowboy shower or a soak in a cowboy tub! There’s nothing better after a day of desert fun! And while you’re here, don’t forget to experience the meandering nature trail that will lead you around the 2.5-acre property. GUEST ACCESS: Luna Vista is located at the top of the Joshua Tree Highlands, a beautiful and quiet neighborhood in the hills adjacent to the West Park Entrance. You must have a car to experience this area. Many of the roads are dirt roads, including in the Joshua Tree Highlands where Luna Vista is located. JOSHUA TREE: Joshua Tree is known for its iconic trees (actually not trees but belonging to the yucca family), its beautiful desert landscapes and Joshua Tree National Park, renowned for its unusual geology that has attracted climbers from all over the world. The Park's unique features, the quietude, expansive vistas, and special energy of the area has attracted and inspired artists of all types, many of whom have chosen to live in this creative environment. The awesome desert weather, flora and fauna add to the exceptional qualities of Joshua Tree. PETS: Your well-behaved dogs, weighing under 50lbs, are welcome with a non-refundable pet fee of $75 per dog up to 2 dogs MAXIMUM. San Bernardino requires that I confirm that all pets are currently licensed and vaccinated. EXTRA GUESTS: Guest count must be the same as on the reservation. Keep in mind there is an added $50/night Usage & Amenity fee (plus booking fees & taxes) per guest over the 4th to cover extra cleaning and amenity usage. The attention to detail and how caring the owners are highly recommended. The views and isolation is what I was looking for. A small warning but doesn’t take anything away is that the dirt road leading to the property is accessible (we used our mini van) but it can be a bit challenging to those that never drove in a dirt road. 10/10\. It was a quick 10 minute drive to the entrance station. The house sits up on a hill with a huge patio off the back with an amazing view and nice breeze. The kitchen was well appointed. That all changed when my daughter talked me into a trip to Joshua Tree. The only bad point is that I didn't book a longer stay.The house is amazing. You won't need to buy anything but food. I over-shopped, because everywhere I've stayed before required more staples. This wasn't the case at Luna Vista. Cindy supplied everything -the coffee, filters, creamer, paper towels, tp, shampoo, soap, etc... We didn't need to turn on the AC or heat. The temp in the house stayed comfortable the entire time.The setting enchanted me. I was raised in the country hearing only birds and animals; and to me, that's a little piece of heaven on earth. I live in the country now, but hear traffic all day. Luna Vista was like hitting rewind and getting away from the noise pollution. Granted, the neighbors ARE a bit vocal...and by this, I mean the sparrows, doves, quails (which were #1 on my bird 'must see' list, as I hadn't seen a quail since I was a youngster), and coyotes. They supplied the background music to a most refreshing desert visit.Day 1 provided my long hoped for quail sightings (as did every day of our stay.) A beautiful coyote family did a walk-through on their way down into the wash that runs along the property. I didn't see any roadrunners, but I saw enough rabbits for the coyotes to chase to offset that. The desert flowers and cacti were breathtaking. The mountains and valleys would inspire poets. The weather was great the first week and we took advantage of the many outdoor areas and outdoor shower. The second week it got chillier and windy so we spent less time hanging outside. Great house that led to a memorable family vacation. The surrounding property is fantastic - the kids spent hours exploring and we enjoyed the views. Inside, the attention to detail is top notch - well stocked everything, top class furniture, appliances, kitchenware, etc.The seclusion is available at the end of a dirt road that felt a little shaky under our Honda Pilot. It does give you pause to run out for a quick coffee or to the store. But it's worth it. Stock up for the weekend and enjoy this fantastic house. There were multiple comfortable seating areas outside to take in the breathtaking views.I will mention that the beds are quite firm.
