The property photos — many items shown are old, broken, or completely unusable. There was no outdoor lighting, and the glasses were dusty and poorly maintained. "The room was nice and spacious. As others have noted the decor is a little dated, however, the room is breathtaking. Staff was very warm and helpful. They were so sweet- as we were leaving several staff members came out to bow and wave to us (it made us feel valued as customers). The sushi bar was a special treat. The onsen was very relaxing, with a lovely view Thank you for a pleasant stay."

The only drawback is the steps to get to the beach. You need to be in relatively good shape to make it there. Otherwise, no complaints."

"We had a wonderful stay at Yukairou Kikuya last week! The property is gorgeous and the private onsen in our room was wonderful and much appreciated after a long stay in Japan with much walking! We really enjoyed the town of Izu - Shizouka with its quaint feel, the lovely temple, bamboo forest and the beautiful river running through the town. It was such a lovely break from all the large city stays we had and my husband and I have already discussed returning without our tenn children as it is a very romantic property and is more suitable to adults. The traditional Japanese dinner and Western breakfast were all wonderful and we enjoyed the other amenities as well. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a lovely onsen stay during the visit to Japan!"

The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful. There was a small issue with my reservation, but the team patiently assisted me and resolved everything smoothly. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped. While the facilities are a little dated, they are very well maintained. The hot spring was fantastic and incredibly relaxing after a long day. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again in the future."
