Each suite can fit up to four guests, making it great for families or groups. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. We accidentally left a cell phone behind, and they quickly arranged to ship it to our next hotel—a level of service we truly appreciated. The property offers one public onsen and one private onsen. The shared spaces are a bit small, and the private onsen is first-come, first-served with no reservation system, which may be inconvenient for some. Since our suites had private baths, this wasn’t an issue for us. A fun highlight: the ryokan has three small self-service cafés with complimentary drinks, popsicles, and ice cream, plus a late-night free ramen bar at 10 PM. Such a unique and enjoyable touch! Meals were excellent. The kaiseki dinner was beautifully prepared, and breakfast offered Western or Japanese options. Their Western-style breakfast tasted better than many we’ve had back home in the US. There is also a charming kimono rental shop next door. We recommend renting here rather than in Kyoto or Tokyo—it's less crowded and offers stunning photo spots with bamboo forests, a riverside bridge, and nearby temples.
