Dixon Vacation Packages

The Larkspur Landing staff are wonderful. I accidentally booked the wrong room and they waived the transfer fee. They’re one of very few hotels in the area that allow pets and have kitchenette’s. Because I brought my dog, they were able to accommodate my request to be on the first floor near an exit door. The room was nice and clean. The kitchen was stocked with the basics. The bed... The bed was terrible. It was way too soft. I don’t have a bad back and can pretty much sleep anywhere. But it was so uncomfortable that on the morning of check out I couldn’t wait to get up and go home. Another notable mention is parking. The hotel charges an additional $12 per night to park on the property with the option to park on the street. I personally don’t feel comfortable leaving my car parked overnight on the street quite a distance from the hotel. For me $12 is not going to make or break the stay but it’s just something worth mentioning.

The room itself was gorgeous and spacious, however there were visible stains on the couch. My main concern though, was the lack of attention at all from the staff. Even during hours in which they were supposed to be there (presumably 9:30-4:30), they were gone from the front desk and not answering messages. To preface, they said to message a specific number for anything we needed in addition to another number we could call. My friend who was staying with me messaged on a Wednesday for towels as we felt we needed more than what they had given, and we never received a response. On Thursday I messaged at 2:50p, over an hour before they were supposed to leave, and never got a response until I sent “hello??” hours later. By then it was after those hours so they were definitely off the property, and we could only get one extra bath towel and a couple extra hand towels they had out in the hallway. It was just an extremely disappointing experience for booking what was supposed to be the best room in the hotel. Other than the lack of staff to help, the place was clean and comfortable. Would stay again as long as I prepared by bringing some of my own towels.
