All the cons: The concierge mentioned that the shuttle that takes you from point A to point B within the hotel grounds makes its rounds every 15 minutes, which is not true. My boyfriend and I waited almost twenty minutes for it and still no sign of the driver. We ended up walking up the hills just to get breakfast. Don’t get me wrong it was a good workout but when it’s in the middle of the day where it’s hot and humid and in flip flops, that was not ideal. Also the food selections at the one restaurant by the pool was subpar. We ended up eating our lunches and dinners outside of the hotel at the few restaurants nearby. You can’t go wrong with breakfast so we just had their fruit and eggs offered there. The options for drinks at the bars were not great. They only had one beer and bland cocktails. As far as the room, it was also not all that pleasant. The AC wouldn’t turn off so it was freezing cold anytime you’re in the room. The bed was as hard as a rock. There was a coffee machine and two mugs but no coffee available. The bathroom had a shower with mold growing on the bottom. There was no shower door which caused the water to spill out every time we took a shower, which left the whole bathroom floor wet. Who wants to walk on a wet floor? Lastly, there were only two towel cards offered per room. When you’re going to the pool or the beach everyday, you’re gonna need more towels! So we ended up reusing sandy towels for multiple days. Overall, would not recommend staying there.

Staff was amazing and the room was excellent.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary here and thoroughly enjoyed the resort and the hardworking and friendly staff. The beach and the water was the best we ever experienced. Helpful hint: download the RIU app bc it makes reservations at the Steakhouse!

Staff was excellent. Food was very good. Bars were good. The night shows are just OK. There is no real hangout area for teens. There is really no activities to do at night time. Beach area is very poor. They don’t pull out any lounge chairs to lay out on the beach. You have to do it yourself. Beach is clean to walk. There is no beach bar. There is no close bathroom by the pools at the Palace. The adult pool is disgusting, it normally turns green by the end of the day. Our room was good but the other room stunk like sewage. It is an OK hotel but I would not got back to this one.
