However, a was absolutely shocked by the amount of single use plastic : everything was plastic, and no recycling bin could be seen. Disposable coffee cups wrapped in individual plastic bags ; disposable breakfast cutellery, disposable plastic glasses in rooms, etc. I would have loved to be able to, at least, recycle all the plastic I used, and even better would be the implementation of reusable glasses, plates, etc. »

« Overall, the Lodge at West River is a decent, clean, secure, comfortable place to spend one night. The property-- which is actually a motel, not a lodge -- sits next to a surprisingly busy secondary road. For the price, I would have expected more ambience, softer sheets, and on-site dining. I will say the home-baked breakfast treats look amazing (alas, no carbs for me!) All that said, the staff and owners are welcoming, helpful and responsive. And that can be rare these days. »
