"We booked our stay at Hotel Viata nearly two months in advance and were really looking forward to staying at what is advertised as a four-star resort. Unfortunately, when we arrived after traveling from Dallas to Austin, we were told that the hotel had overbooked and that there was no room available for us. After a long drive and expecting to check into the hotel we carefully planned for, being turned away at the front desk was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. The staff arranged a “complimentary” stay at another hotel, but it was a noticeably lower-tier property and not comparable to what we originally booked or paid for. While I understand that mistakes can happen, overbooking guests who reserved months in advance is unacceptable for a hotel that positions itself as a high-end resort. The whole point of booking early is to avoid exactly this kind of situation. This completely ruined the experience we had planned and left a very negative first impression. If you’re considering staying here, just be aware that even confirmed reservations apparently don’t guarantee you’ll actually have a room when you arrive."

"Hotel was being renovated and there were old matresses in the wall way. There was a strong odor of paint and other chemicals. A notice prior to booking that the hotel was being remodled would have been appreciated. "

"My Family and I stayed for spring break and had a wonderful time, house and property grounds were gorgeous and clean, beautiful hill views, the pool was amazing along with the lounge areas and game room. host was easily accessible and very helpful throughout our stay. we will definitely be back..one of our favorites."

"The property was very clean and convenient to our plans. Plenty of parking. The main bedroom had a door, so someone could still watch tv or cook in kitchen and not disturb someone sleeping. The full size refrigerator was super. It was definitely better than the mini fridges in other hotels. I absolutely loved that there was a separate area to do my hair and makeup. Location: great access to Loop 1 to get to downtown. Grocery store was only 10 min away. Plenty of eateries in the area. "

"We got to hotel about 30 minutes early and the front desk staff was nice enough to let us check in. Initially, we were given the wrong room but they quickly fixed the issue. Room was clean and comfy and the surrounding area was nice and quiet. Would definitely stay again. "

"This is a great property with a fantastic sunset view of the canyon. It was very clean and modern. Plenty of glassware and dinner ware. Cooking utensils and pans were adequate, but could be improved upon. A few more bath towels would be helpful as well as dish clothes and dish towels. We enjoyed our stay."
