The hotel was walking distance to restaurants and pubs. The GO station was a quick walk and an easy 30 minute ride to Toronto. The room had a balcony and a beautiful view of the marina area. The free parking was nice. The hotel itself is quite dated and appears to be an old apartment building. The bathroom had water damage in the ceiling. It has a full kitchen and separate bedroom. The staff was friendly.

The confirmation process was complicated by the fact that several steps were required to finalize the contract. The room we got was not what I believed I requested but GlobalStay, the management firm would not provide any proof that I had mistakenly ordered the wrong room. Nor would they offer any option to correct the issue. The parking space that we were told to use was occupied by another vehicle. As requested by GlobalStay I provided photo evidence and a photo of where I ended up parking so GlobalStay could inform building management. They did not do so. Consequently my vehicle was ticketed for $150 dollars in fines. I would avoid GlobalStay if possible.

I booked a Fallsview room for my family visiting from oversea, but this was a very disappointing experience. Before our stay, I called the hotel to confirm we would receive a Fallsview room and requested a higher floor. The staff said they would leave a note. My family checked in first and was given Room 1516. When I arrived, I found that a large part of the view was blocked by the building. We could only see part of Horseshoe Falls, and American Falls was not visible at all. This should not be sold as a regular Fallsview room. The air conditioning also did not work properly, and there was a portable fan in the room like a motel. For a room costing almost CAD $800 per night, this was unacceptable. I asked to change rooms, but the front desk first said none were available. After I explained that I had stayed here before and knew what a real Fallsview room looked like, they suddenly found another room. We were moved to Room 2318, which had the full Fallsview we had paid for. This proves a better room was available. Rooms with blocked views should be clearly described as partial or obstructed Fallsview and priced accordingly. My family also felt the front desk staff were unfriendly during check-in. Since they are visitors and do not speak English well, they felt they were treated differently. I chose Marriott because of its reputation, but instead I had to argue just to receive the room I booked. This experience was frustrating and far below Marriott standards.
