"There was an issue at check in where our confirmed reservation from Expedia somehow didn't make it into their system, so they were unable to accommodate to room we booked (deluxe pool view). We were unhappy with the original room they tried to put us in the other building further away from the pool. After we complained they agreed to move us into the El Dorado building facing the courtyard a couple rooms down from where we had reserved and offered a $50 food and beverage credit for the inconvenience. If you book through Expedia, I recommend contacting the hotel to verify they receive the reservation. It worked fine for our previous stay, so this may have been a one time error. Overall our stay was excellent aside from the check in experience. The trolley was out of service for maintenance and they had a couple of vans running multiple trips per hour instead. We were surprised they didn't get a larger vehicle with similar seating as an alternative since this is a major amenity many people rely on to get to Universal Studios. We just went to Citywalk on this trip so it didn't impact us that much, but there were long lines outside in the mornings for people waiting to go to the park that would have been a big source of frustration otherwise."

"I used to stay here often a few years back. The location is great, but the age of the property is showing that they have not updated at all. Paper cups in plastic and lack of a trash can in the bathroom was inconvenient. I just took the room can to the bathroom. Staff in the West restaurant was friendly, but lacked enthusiasm. The views are great, but this spot has dropped a star (or two). Valet was professional and friendly."
