El Sendero Inn, an Ascend Collection Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"Great stay in awesome location for very reasonable price for downtown!! Walk an easy block to the plaza area. Nice clean room, comfy bed, good shower, and a large separate vanity area which is a huge plus! No hassle parking. This is not your fancy hotel with a lobby to hang out in, but sleep here and walk there! Will stay again for the value!!"

"The hotels is in a great location. The rooms are small. The beds and the pillows are uncomfortable. The pillows are down, which I think is the worst. It is clean and historic. I would not stay again be side of the beds."

"Ojo was beautiful. The grounds and the pools were amazing. We were disappointed to find out when we arrived that there were no elevators to our second floor room. Note: There are alot of stairs everywhere."

The Mystic Santa Fe

The Mystic Santa Fe

8/10 Good
"This place took an old motel and renovated it into a hip and well designed hot spot. Having said that, the rooms are still lined up motel formation so any passing guests are a loud presence right outside your door. We loved the new design and the bed and bath were clean, comfortable and new. The restaurant and bar were super cool and the excellent food was a bonus. We had not planned to eat there but changed our minds once we saw it and read about their new chef. Whoever designed the place deserves an award. They do have a large event space in the back and host live music events and parties, so i would check that they don’t have one scheduled when you stay, unless you’re into that kind of thing. The event space was also super cool with gardens, a stage, and side bar so if you wanted to host a party, this would be a great place to do it. The location is on a very busy road south of old town and not near the historic plaza so you’d need a car to get around and see the sites. After a long trip that included many mediocre breakfasts, we were very pleased with the quality of their included breakfast. The breakfast was fresh and diverse. Overall, they did a fantastic job with this place."
