Express transit takes 30 minutes to Vancouver. Enjoy hiking, golf, parks, beaches, ferries, snow activates and much more. Ferry Walk House is family and pet friendly. Come and relax in a spacious, air-conditioned garden suite that includes outside dining and barbeque. Guests needing to work remotely have a desk and an excellent wifi connection. The accommodation is self-contained with private entrance and off-street parking. The 2nd bedroom is available when the booking is for more than two guests. This bedroom is separated by an inner door and it includes a full-size desk, TV and a large picture window overlooking a tranquil English garden. If 2 guests require both bedrooms, please make the booking for 3 people to activate the extra room charge. The fully equipped kitchen includes tea, coffee, seasonings etc. Laundry products are included for the in-suite washer and dryer. Both queen size beds have high quality mattresses. Bathrobes, beach towels and hair dryers are provided. About the Owner: I am a grandmother, originally from the UK and still retain the accent and British sense of humour! I live on the main floor above the suite. While I completely respect the privacy of my guests, I am always happy to answer questions or help with directions. I have books and toys for small children, plus some baby equipment. For your furry family member, the patio garden is “escape-proof”. I warmly invite you to come to stay at Ferry Walk House and enjoy life in Horseshoe Bay village. Special Note: Professional cleaners carry out thorough cleaning and disinfecting. It was warm for a few days, but having AC at the home is a much appreciated luxury. West Vancouver and Vancouver are worth the short car treks. It was exactly as depicted in the listing and Valerie' was a delightful host. She was not at all intrusive, but checked in periodically to see if we needed anything, and was very responsive when we did have a question. The proximity to multiple ferries ( literally 5 minute walk) was a great asset, allowing exploration of areas that were not reachable by car. Vancouver is 20 minutes away, and staying in Horseshoe Bay enabled us to avoid the traffic jams of the city as well as enjoy the quaint seaside village. The private lush garden of Ferry House was one of my most favorite things, allowing us to sit outside most nights with daylight to almost 10\. This was our first visit to the area and Ferry House was 5 stars all around. We would absolutely stay here again. ##### beth b. This place is awesome! It’s clean and has everything you need to make it home away from home. It’s a 1-2 minute walk to the ferry. There are some restaurants and shops nearby. Easy access to the freeway if you need to go to the city or drive up the mountain. If you bring your four legged family member there is a trail close by (about 200 ft). Your host, Valerie, is a phone call or text away and very responsive to whatever you need. She greeted us on arrival and was there to bid us farewell. All in all I’d say this place is great as a home base for staying in Vancouver. ##### Sharise H. We stayed at Ferry Walk House in late June/early July and it was a great week! Valerie was such an attentive host, she even came to the rescue when our rental car wouldn't start. Ferry Walk House was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed - including a washer/dryer and all the kitchen things you might require! Nice patio, too. Horseshoe Bay is absolutely lovely. Everything is less than 5 minutes away (walking) - coffee shops, restaurants, pharmacy and a store for quick necessities. The drive into Vancouver can vary a bit, depending on the time of day you go, but you can make it to the far reaches of Vancouver in 30-40 minutes. Stanley Park is a mere 20 minutes away - pending traffic on the bridge. We explored Stanley Park, Science World (a MUST if you have kids - it is worth every penny and then some!), Granville Island (park near Science World and take the AquaBus - it's so tiny and fantastic), and some other parts of the city. However, we actually found the best adventures away from the city. Whale Watching - We booked with Seabreeze Adventures (in Steveston - cute town), but all the tours talk to eachother as to where the whales are, so just go with whichever is most convenient for you. Whistler - The mountain & the drive there is amazing. Plan a stop at Shannon Falls. The ferry - across the street from Ferry Walk House! Take it to Nanaimo, which is very charming. Very happy with our stay, the place was just as nice as it appears in the pictures, Valerie was fabulous, going out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. The photos and description of Ferry Walk House is true to every word, it is simply home from home, very dog friendly too. It is a gem of a place in the middle of Horseshoe Bay, walking distance to the bay, local shops, restaurants etc. Lots of places to visit, lots of trails to visit if you like hiking, lovely drive to Whistler, Squamish stopping off at points of interests : Brandiwine Falls, Alexander Falls, Shannon Falls.
