Perfect stay and perfect room
Perfect stay, the photos on the website don’t do this place justice! My room was well sized and recently refurbished and spotless. Breakfast was really nice and free and was asked if I want more and was certainly full after it! Will be staying again soon.

Perfectly poached eggs!
A friend and I spent a long weekend here in order to visit Powis Castle nearby. We had a warm welcome, our room had been recently refurbished and tastefully decorated, keeping many original features of this very old building. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Would recommend this hotel.

Nice friendly place to stay
I stayed overnight with my 8 year old son. The staff were very welcoming and catered to all our needs. Our room was spacious and well equipped it was also very clean. The breakfast next morning was very nice and cooked to order. The only complaint I have is it was very noisy and I didn't sleep very well due to inconsiderate other guests coming to and fro their rooms and talking loudly outside my door.

Glad we stayed there!
The Talbot Hotel was underging substantial renovations when we stayed there. The room we had, No. 1, had been renovated and was very well appointed. Food was very good and the hot breakfast cooked to order. The village of Berriew is attractive and quiet.

Lovely mini-break
The Talbot was ideally placed for our visit to Powys castle. Reasonably priced and comfy room. The immediate surroundings are beautiful and the food service was good. The only negative was the shower, it only had 2 settings, freezing and scalding

Friendly staff with excellent food. Great surrounding inside and out. Bed a little uncomfortable and noisy due to metal work and springs in mattress. However would recommend to others and stay again. Very friendly cat😂😂

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was very good, and there was plenty of food provided for the evening meal which was nice and hot (although it wasn't the highest quality food being a little bland). We enjoyed the walk down the riverside and along the nearby Montgomery Canal. Our room was up some steep stairs and the mattress was too hard for either of us to have a good nights sleep. Overall, good value for money, thanks.

When we first arrived we thought the place looked scruffy but we quickly realised that they were having major remake of the outside area. We were in room 3 and it had obviously been recently refurbished and was attractively done. The ensuite was spotlessly clean. Our only criticism was the shelf over the sink which made it more or less impossible to clean your teeth and rinse using the sink. Breakfast was included in the price and there was a wide choice and it was well cooked with good quality ingredients. 10 out of 10 for breakfast. They offer a good choice of evening and lunchtime food. Nothing too fancy but something for everyone. Staff are pleasant and helpful.

Brilliant stay!
Brilliant stay, very welcoming and friendly staff. Bedroom was clean and bed comfy. Food was really good, good sized portions. Breakfast was picked from a list the night before so all cooked fresh, and could be added to in the morning. All in all fantastic little find!

We had a twi night stay at The Talbot Hotel. What an excellent place to stay. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly. There was everything in the rooms for a comfortable stay. The breakfast on both mornings were absolutely tremendous. Again thanks to Jacki and all the staff what a great place.

Has to be the best value Hotel in the area. My Bedroom was large, with modern decoration, on suite shower room was great. I'm not small, so a sizeable shower is important. Bed was excellent, comfortable and surrounding area was very quiet at night. All spotless clean. Breakfast was freshly cooked with proper tasty sausage, bacon and poached eggs with runny yolks. It doesn't get much better than that. Absolutely excellent value. I'm back in the area again this week, guess where I'm staying..... Thank Jackie for making my stay a great experience.
