The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered huge changes to the way we travel. If you plan to visit Fiji, these tips will help you navigate travel’s newest challenges:
- Know what, if any, rules or restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so remember to check before you lock in your flight.
- Wear a face mask during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to temporarily lower your mask for identification purposes.
- To avoid cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA employee.
- TSA now permits passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will have to be removed from your bag for screening.
- Place any personal items (e.g, keys, phone and wallet) in your carry-on instead of a bin to reduce handling during the screening process.
- Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Keeping your food separate from your carry-on means it’s less likely a TSA officer will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
