Beautiful hotel, well kept, great little rooms, very nice staff! Central location and easy to find parking or walk through the city, and there’s a little rooftop walkway which I really enjoyed having for fresh air and the view.
The Victorian is a lovely, very clean hotel. It's not located in the best area, but i knew this. I was there on business and it was a prefect distance to my work. And lots of cafés close. My only complaint is that there was some sort of work going on to the side of the building or the building next door. The scaffolding was directly outside my window and the work would start with lots of yelling and talking on the dot at 7 a.m. every morning. I was also getting up at 7, so this wasn't a big issue for me. And i would definitely stay there again.
Check-in and check-out were totally easy. It's a 10-ish minute walk to Yaletown/Waterfront and a shorter walk to Gastown. Footpaths from Waterfront Skytrain station are pretty easy (with a small hill) for those with roller bags.
We booked the rooms with our own bathroom, and it was a good size, warm and clean. We put a sign on our door for room service and the room was cleaned each day.
Perfect for a 3-day stopover in Vancouver because we could see the sights we wanted to without trouble. Would book again.
Lovely hotel with wonderful, helpful staff. Only issue is the parking situation, which is not located on the premises, and the parking structure had the most pungent smell of urine. The amount of homeless people partaking in illicit drugs during both the day and night was staggering; however, if I ever find myself in Vancouver again, I would not mind staying at the Victorian.
I loved the character of the building and room while maintaining a sense of luxury. My partner and I booked the room with a king bed and private bathroom. It’s been beautifully renovated with a lovely bathroom and a lot of care was put in to retaining the feel of the older building. The room seemed a bit small compared to most other hotel rooms I’ve stayed in but it was actually a perfect size for us.
I enjoyed my stay. Staff were very friendly, daily room cleaning and the shared bathrooms were very nice and cleaned regularly. It’s an old building and noise travels so bring earplugs. The building has lots of character but is old and a bit like staying at grandmas house, don’t expect five star haha. The location is excellent, close to Gastown, Granville and Robson.
