"The place is very beautiful to start. Because of its location it's quiet and peaceful. The views are wonderful. The staff is great. My wife and I only had breakfast there since it was part of the stay and it was excellent. You will need some taxi service to go out and visit other sites but they have great locals with a whole lot of recommendations and stories. My next trip will be with the whole family"

Small coastal town Chicxulub Puerto lies near the center of the Chicxulub crater in Yucatán, offering a unique geological experience by the Gulf of Mexico. Discover the origin of its intriguing name, 'the devil's flea', in Yucatec Maya language.
The hotel is lovely with the white marble floors and big windows. We found that the restaurant was satisfactory. As other people mention, we would have liked to have another day to relax and take in another ruin and/or a cenote. The ruins of Uxmal are amazing and we visited them in the morning. We spent a few extra hours by the pool and were allowed late check out for a very reasonable price. They will also let you just store your luggage and use the facilities at no cost.

I have found my favourite vacation spot in the yucatan! Staying at the Mundo Maya Uxmal hotel was a 10/10 experience for us. We originally booked two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My husband and I both thought it was just going to regular 4 star hotel near the popular Uxmal ruins in the nearby town. Oh was I so wrong! This hotel is situated in the bio reserve area in the Nuevo Uxmal park. The grounds were beautiful and immaculatly maintained by their dedicated staff

Great breakfast to start the day. Jose is a great server and made the best limon margaritas we had on the trip. Restaurant menu was excellent balance of food we knew and with a Mayan twist. Owner Amy Jo was welcoming and on site to offer suggestions and support for the area.
Thank you

The place is awesome. A forested oasis. They're completely off the grid: clean well water which we drank straight out of the tap (yes you read that correctly!). solar power for electricity. Grounds are very nice. Breakfast provided by the owners is excellent. Very close to Uxmal ruins (10 min drive), and the town of Santa Elena (5 minute drive). They also do yoga retreats, have a sweat lodge, and my personal favorite was sleeping in a hammock outside of our door listening to the chorus...

When is the best time to go to Uxmal?
The best time to go to Uxmal is during the dry season, from November to April, to enjoy pleasant weather for exploring the ruins.
During these months, the temperatures are generally milder, averaging around 25-30°C (77-86°F), and there's significantly less rainfall. This makes it ideal for walking around the extensive archaeological site without the discomfort of high humidity or the interruption of sudden downpours. You'll find it more comfortable to ascend the Pyramid of the Magician or stroll through the Nunnery Quadrangle.
For those looking to avoid the busiest crowds and secure better value on accommodation, visiting in November or late April can be particularly good. The peak season typically runs from December to March, when the weather is at its finest, but prices may be higher, and the site can be more crowded.
Visiting outside the dry season, from May to October, brings higher temperatures, increased humidity, and daily rain showers, often in the late afternoon. While the ruins are still accessible, the heat can be intense, and the rain might disrupt your exploration.
