3BR Beachfront Getaway – Behind Owner’s Home

"The best part of this place was the location. I was down there with friends for a volleyball tournament, and having walk-out access to the beach was really convenient (as was the hose by the door to rinse sand off before going in). Sara was easy to communicate with, and worked with me to figure out a convenient check-out time (for an extra fee). The listing was a bit confusing to me, in that your rental isn't right on the beach, but rather behind the owner's house, which is. However, there's a patio area (shared between the owners and the other attached rental) that walks right out on the beach which was great. I always feel it's a bit uncomfortable when the owner is so close to your rental property, like you're being watched all of the time (however, they did absolutely nothing to make us feel that way, so maybe that's just a personal issue I should work on). The listing was clear that there's not much provided besides dishes and utensils, but that does make for a much larger packing list (sheets, pillows, towels, toilet paper, paper towel, garbage bags, etc.). The three upstairs rooms were not big, but were sufficient for our needs, and even had enough room to squeeze in a pack-n-play. The appliances worked, there was a grill outside the door, and the smart-tv and WiFi worked well. Overall, this property was a bit on the pricey side and didn't come with many amenities, but the owners were nice and easy to deal with, the location was excellent, and we had a great stay."

Beautiful all new Blue Heron only a few feet from Oneida Lake

"My husband and I , another couple and a male friend just spent from Tuesday to Sunday at the Blue Heron. The house has everything you need and then some. The guys really enjoyed the billiards and sitting by the fire pit. Us gals enjoyed the porch, sipping our coffee in the mornings and walking down to the water to watch the sunset. We tried Harpoon Eddie's, The Lake House , the Spaghetti Factory and Avollitos in Camden for dinners .They were all excellent. The Farmhouse was our favorite breakfast place. But when us gals were left without transportation( guys were on motorcycles in Syracuse) we walked to the Pancake house...in the rain. But it was well worth the walk. Our host Patty was exceptional before during and after the trip to quickly respond to all my questions. We live in Virginia but if we ever have reason to pass this way again, we will certainly try to stay at the Blue Heron again. We rode all through the back roads with a trip to Pixel Falls and a trip up to Lake Ontario. The lighthouse at Port Ontario is now a B&B."

"My family and I have stayed here before and will definitely stay here again. From kayaking to fishing we had a great time. It is centrally located, you can walk to wherever you need to go. It is it is clean and very, very comfortable. We love this place."
