I chose this motel based on the rave reviews on Expedia. Turns out those were for the actual motel rooms. Beware if traveling with a pet— you get placed in an ancient and dilapidated house out front near the road with rickety steps and TWO keys, one for the “porch” and one for the room. Upon entering, the smell of sour milk permeated the room. There were no overhead lights, and the standing light next to the microwave and fridge was plugged into a socket that did not work, a power strip was dangling from the one functioning socket that served to power all the appliances. The house was late 19th century, which would be fine if there were any modern updates. No plugs in the bathroom, so had to unplug the air conditioner to use that socket across the room to dry my hair. (The power strip mentioned above was fully loaded). My biggest complaint was the addition of a pet fee on top of the already overly priced room. The “fee” should have been being placed in this room, full stop. For those who travel with pets, we often choose motels due to the convenience of having a parking space and easy access to the room without needing to carry belongings and handle leashes up stairs or across parking lots. The staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable. But that is the only positive thing I have to say about this non-motel room.
